Hello,
As we wrap up 2024, we reflect on a very successful year for Plantma Forestry. PlantMax has firmly established itself in the market. We see a growing demand for our versatile planting solution, and media outlets have started to notice that a new Swedish machine exporter has entered the scene. Next year’s order books are practically full, and the future looks very bright for Plantma Forestry.
Here are some highlights of 2024.
Brazil
Brazil continues to be our strongest market. Our South American dealer, Timber, is doing an excellent job and sees increasing demand for our products—not just in Brazil. We have now ramped up production of our Subsoiler, a product highly anticipated in the Brazilian market, which will play a key role in driving future growth across South America.
In September, Timber demonstrated PlantMax at the major forestry fair Lignum Latin America 2024 in Curitiba, Brazil. Our representative on-site noted a strong interest in PlantMax: “Our machine is, without a doubt, the main attraction of this event. The stream of visitors wouldn’t stop, and we had to call for more staff to handle the questions and inquiries,” he reported after the first day.
Canada
Things have started moving in Canada as well. Several PlantMax units are scheduled for delivery early next year, making Canada our second-strongest market after Brazil. Our dealer, Log Max Forestry, hosted a successful media event for PlantMax in September, generating press coverage. The Canadian magazine Logging and Sawmilling Journal dedicated a five-page article in its latest issue to our reforester, with the headline: “Tackling Tree Planting—and a Shortage of Tree Planters—with Machines.”
Australia
Australian company Form Forest was very impressed after their first season with a new PlantMax X3—planting nearly 1,600,000 seedlings in just three months. “We now have a robust tool to mitigate climate risk by planting rapidly and to the highest quality,” said Form Forest director Darryl Outhwaite.
Latvia
We conducted a successful trial for Latvia State Forests this spring. Since then, we’ve received promising feedback from a quality follow-up, with results set to be presented in an official study next year. More information will follow in due time.
Sweden
We often receive questions about productivity in Swedish forests. As we always say, it depends on various factors, making it challenging to provide a straightforward answer. However, we continuously operate one of our own PlantMax units in Swedish forests to fine-tune, test, and develop improvements. During the last job of the year with this unit, it averaged approximately 2,200 seedlings per hour during active planting, with a peak of 2,464 seedlings per hour.
MidiFlex and Subsoiler
Plantma Forestry’s product portfolio extends beyond PlantMax units. Our MidiFlex and Subsoiler are standalone products with significant growth potential. MidiFlex, one of the most gentle soil preparation units on the market, is a worthwhile investment for landowners looking to minimize soil damage, and we have started to see a growing interest in this product as well.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
We now look forward to some well-deserved rest. When we return after the holiday season, we’ll be gearing up for an exciting 2025. Wishing you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
